Our Teachers

Our teachers are passionate about music and the development of young children.

They create a fun, informal, social setting that spurs engagement and supports each child's musical development.

All Music Together Chesapeake teachers are trained and licensed by Music Together®, LLC

In addition to this training, our teachers regularly attend workshops as they continue to develop their teaching skills.

Instructor's father, a self taught mandolin, guitar and pedal steel player, and Nashville recording artist, was the driving musical force in Kim's family. Growing up Kim sang in church and school choirs and later in York Little Theatre musical productions. As a trained dancer, she performed with Baltimore Ballet Theatre before becoming a certified Group Exercise Leader and Personal Trainer. Kim teaches fitness classes through Anne Arundel Community College and is part of a percussive step dance duo performing as Step Jam. She is on the board of the Annapolis Traditional Dance Society and the Country Dance and Song Society, and is a dance caller as well as a singer and musician, playing mandolin in two local bands. She is interested in giving children an experience to enjoy their love of song through their own way of expression and is happy to have found Music Together, and completed her training in March 2010. When she is not singing and dancing, Kim works with a market research team on environmental projects and volunteers with DNR's children's education programs.

Instructor, grew up in a musical family, and was always encouraged to participate in musical ventures. As a young child Heather studied piano and cello and performed in several choirs including a Show Choir and a Bell Choir. She continued playing cello throughout high school, taking part in several competitions, earning herself a position within the United States Youth Ensembles and touring Europe as a part of a youth orchestra. Heather attended The College of Wooster in Ohio where she was principal cellist for the Wooster Symphony, worked with several quartets and toured with the Wooster Choir. She continued to play throughout graduate school, and joined a rock band as the lead singer and cellist. When Heather became a mom she discovered Music Together. She loves the wonderful opportunity it affords to help and encourage her son along his own musical journey.
