Our Teachers

All of our teachers are passionate about music and the development of children.They create a fun, informal, social setting that spurs engagement and supports each child's musical development.  All of our Music Together teachers are licensed and attend regular workshops in order to continue to grow as teachers and to develop their skills.

Music Together Teacher, graduated from the Hartt School (University of Hartford) with a Bachelors degree in both flute performance and music education. She continued her flute studies at Yale University, receiving her Master of Music in Flute Performance. For the past few years, Christine has been teaching instrumental music in Prince George's County, Maryland. As a music educator, she values the importance of early childhood music education. Christine has participated in Music Together programs with her daughter and started teaching Music Together in Fall 2011.

Director & Music Together Teacher received her Bachelor's degree in Piano from the University of Maryland. In addition to her Music Together classes she has taught on the early childhood music faculty at the Levine School of Music in Washington, DC and has worked with the Drama Learning Center & Schoolhouse Theatre Arts in Columbia. Jeanne enjoys performing and accompanying around the Metro area. She completed her Music Together® training through Music Together LLC in Princeton, NJ in 1995, and Certification Level 1 in December, 2007. Jeanne has completed Level II of Orff-Schulwerk at George Mason University, and is a member of the Early Childhood Music & Movement Association, ECMMA.

Teacher: Creative Movement & Music Together as a trained dancer, had performed with Baltimore Ballet Theatre before becoming a certified Group Exercise Leader and Personal Trainer. Kim teaches fitness classes through Anne Arundel Community College and is part of a percussive step dance duo performing as Step Jam. She is on the board of the Annapolis Traditional Dance Society and the Country Dance and Song Society, and is a dance caller as well as a singer and musician, playing mandolin in two local bands. Kim completed her Music Together training in March 2010 and is very excited to have the opportunity to join her love for music and dance in our new Creative Movement class which begins this fall.

Music Together Teacher, studied piano and cello as a young child, and also performed in several choirs including a Show Choir and a Bell Choir. She played cello throughout high school, earning herself a position within the United States Youth Ensembles and touring Europe as a part of a youth orchestra. Heather attended The College of Wooster in Ohio where she was principal cellist for the Wooster Symphony, worked with several quartets and toured with the Wooster Choir. She continued to play in graduate school, and joined a rock band as the lead singer and cellist. When Heather became a mom she discovered Music Together, and loves the wonderful opportunity it affords to help and encourage her son along his own musical journey.

Music Together Teacher & Administrative Assistant, has a Bachelor's degree in Theatre from Goucher College in Baltimore. She began singing in choral groups 17 years ago, and has had a love of music ever since. Mandy  has been participating in Music Together with her children since 2004, and has greatly enjoyed sharing music with her children through the program. She completed her teacher training in the summer of 2008, and as of spring 2011 has taught the entire three-year song cycle. Mandy taught MT Preschool last fall at the Magothy Cooperative Preschool. When she is not busy teaching and being mom, Mandy serves in an administrative roll in helping to keep Move & Groove running smoothly.

Violin Teacher  has her Bachelors of Music Education and a Masters in Violin Performance from Indiana University, Bloomington. She has taught locally in both Baltimore and Anne Arundel schools, in addition to 30 years of private violin instruction. Donna has performed with the Ft. Worth Symphony, Annapolis Symphony, and has been a member of "The President's Own" U.S. Marine Band for the past 22 years. Donna has been playing the violin since she was age 8 and piano since she was age 7. Teaching young children the joy of music is an ambition of hers ever since she decided to make music her career back when she was thirteen years old.  We are delighted to have Donna on our staff to begin the violin program at Move & Groove.
