Our Music Together classes build on your child's natural enthusiasm for music and movement. We'll help you provide your child with the basic musical skills needed to enjoy school and social musical activities, and to study an instrument should he or she choose to do so.
For infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and their parents/caregivers, Music Together® is based on the premise that all children are musical and that parents and other primary caregivers play a crucial role in activating their child’s music development. Classes are presented as informal, non-performance oriented musical experiences- developmentally appropriate for the children and easy for parents and caregivers, regardless of their own musical ability. Best of all, Music Together® is fun!
Music Together, now being taught nationwide, began as an educational project of the Center for Music and Young Children. Founded in 1985 by Kenneth K. Guilmartin, CMYC is committed to helping families, caregivers, and early childhood professionals rediscover the pleasure and value of informal, non-performance-oriented musical experiences, especially during the early childhood years which are critical for developing basic music competence.
